Netflix is releasing four original Christmas movies in 2026, starting Wednesday, November 4. For faith-minded viewers, one stands out: Tyler Perry's gospel musical The Gospel of Christmas.
Netflix's 2026 Christmas movie schedule
- November 4: A Dog's Perfect Christmas, a family drama starring Dennis Quaid, Milo Ventimiglia and Mary Steenburgen.
- November 11: Tyler Perry's The Gospel of Christmas.
- November 18: Guarding Stars, a holiday romance with Leighton Meester and Jared Padalecki.
- December 2: In a Holidaze, a time-loop comedy starring Maddie Ziegler and Rob Lowe.
The faith-based pick: The Gospel of Christmas
The film follows a struggling pastor who inherits his family's church in a broken New York neighborhood. As he battles doubt and temptation, he has to rediscover his faith and the power of prayer to save his church, family and community in time for Christmas. Tank plays the preacher, Isaac, and Fantasia Barrino plays his wife, Rebecca.
The cast reads like a gospel festival. It features CeCe Winans, Fred Hammond, Shirley Caesar, Yolanda Adams, The Clark Sisters and more, with Kirk Franklin serving as music producer. The story centers on a pastor grappling with unanswered prayer.
All four films stream on Netflix. If you want one holiday movie that puts faith and gospel music at the center, mark November 11.
