Dolly Parton's niece, Rebecca Seaver, has reportedly been fired from her job overseeing the late singer's museum and archive. TMZ reported that the people managing Parton's estate let her go on Thursday, Oct. 29, along with her staff. Neither the estate nor Seaver has publicly confirmed the report, and no reason has been given.
Seaver was the executive director of Dolly's Life of Many Colors Museum, which opened Sept. 29 inside the SongTeller Hotel in downtown Nashville. She is the daughter of Parton's sister Cassie Parton. Her brother, Bryan Seaver, appeared to confirm the news in an Oct. 31 Facebook post, saying he is proud of her work building the museum and archive.
Bryan Seaver, Parton's longtime head of security, was fired in September. The estate's management company, She's Alive, then obtained a temporary restraining order against him, which a judge later extended. He has denied the allegations made against him. Reports have not linked his case to his sister's reported dismissal.
Parton died Aug. 25 at age 80, and the estate is now managed by her longtime manager, Danny Nozell.
Parton, who was known for her faith as well as her music, left behind a legacy that fans hope will be protected. Many will keep her family in their prayers during a difficult season.
