Pacific Rim 2 Spoilers Direct from the Director and Release Date Set
Pacific Rim is one of the science fiction movies release on 2013 that really earned a lot. The total earning of the movie in the box office was actually a whooping amount of $411 million. Thus, by 2014 a sequel, Pacific Rim 2 was already announced and the release date has also been set. The release of Pacific Rim 2 will be on April 7, 2017.
Now, the director was interviewed on The Wall Street Journal and he was happy to share a lot of details on the sequel. The director, Guillermo Del Toro, and two screen writer, Zak Penn and Travis Beacham, are still working on their ideas on this second film but the direction they want to go to is pretty clear. They this movie not to be a continuation by having another monster problem but a movie that will stand on its own yet still have some things that's been taken from the first Pacific Rim movie.
The second film will likely explain the reason behind "the Drift" or the experience that the robot-pilots experience when they connect themselves to the robot. The portal that was created into our universe will also be explained. How it happened and other details will also be discussed in more detail in the second movie. Del Toro was really excited and promised to deliver another extraordinary and giant spectacle in this second one.
Original casts will reprise their roles and hopefully more kick-ass robots will be introduced in the second Pacific Rim movie.
