With regards to screen controls, the S5 features a home, back as well as recent app controls located just below the screen. The G3 screen controls however, are virtual based which can clutter the screen. LG has provided a solution by letting the user hide the virtual screen controls. If the user wants the control back, one has only to swipe them back from the screen's edge.

When it comes to screen resolution the G3 has the advantage over the S5. According to GizMag, the screen resolution of the G3 is around 538 PPI or pixels per inch as opposed to the S5's 432 PPI.

The screen of the G3 is certainly bigger than the S5 but there are some minor lag performance issues with regards to the LG smartphone as reported in GizMag. One way to solve the G3 lag is to select the Android Runtime or ART instead of the Dalvik Runtime which is the default setting.
