Paul Bart: Mall Cop 2 Movie Release Date, Reveals and News: Happy Madison Productions Picks Andy Fickman from Race to Witch Mountain for Director Position
Remember Mall Cop? Remember how we all thought it wasn't a really good movie? Remember how fast it went to DVD? Remember how fast you forgot about it? Well Columbia thought you like it so much that they not only courted the idea of a sequel, they went ahead and funded one. Filming for Mall Cop 2 began in April of 2014 with a release date being set for April 17th 2015. Columbia and Happy Madison Productions picked Andy Fickman to direct the picture. Mr. Fickman who directed Who's Your Daddy, Race To Witch Mountain and She's the Man is no stranger to the genre and is expected to give us a reason to go watch this movie.
The famous Mall of America was much favored for the sequel although the idea was dropped with the movie moving to Vegas for shooting. The film is a movie of firsts, being that it is the first film to receive Nevada's film tax credit and the first commercial film to be shot at Wynn Las Vegas. Steve Wynn, the owner has previously turned down requests to have film shot at his hotel, no doubt fearing the disruption to his guest's comforts. Kevin James who plays Paul Bart comes back in the capacity of producer as well this time alongside Adam Sandler and Todd Garner.
Kevin James will be joined by Molly Shannon whom we know more famously from Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock; Neal McDonough whom we more commonly associate with action movies but we also remember from Desperate Housewives; Daniella Alonso who was in The Hills Have Eyes 2 and One Tree Hill and David Henrie whom we all know and love from Wizard of Waverly Place. Other people on the cast list are Raini Rodriguez, Nicholas Turturro and Gary Valentine.
