Crimson Peak Release Date, Reveals, Reviews News, Rumors, Plot and Updates: Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain and Mila Wasikowska to Feature in Cast

Few things are as timeless as the ghost story. The film year that is 2015 starts with a fresh take on the Amityville story and being that October is Halloween month it would be downright irresponsible of Hollywood not to release at least three horror movies. Joining 20TH Century's Victor Frankenstein in October is Universal Picture and Legendary Pictures' Crimson Peak. The picture is set to be released on the 16th of October. Just like all horror movies showing that month it has visibly avoided the Halloween weekend, no doubt giving fans a chance to get all hyped up to go see it. Only three feature film horror movies have been set for release in October.

The plot is as basic as horror stories can get. There is a house, there are people and there are ghosts. Director Guillermo Del Toro however has been heard saying that the movie will be a modern take on the ghost story. However I would like to imagine that by their very definition ghosts are the furthest things from modern. The movie is set in the 19th century in Cumbria, England. A young female author finds that her new husband is not what he seems to be. The age in which the movie is set also calls the Mexican director's cstatement to question. However we all know that there is nothing impossible in Hollywood and we all look forward to seeing what Guillermo has in store for us.

Charlie Hunnam plays Dr. Alan McMichael who is in love with our young damsel, please note that I said earlier that she is married so this plot twist should be rather welcome. Tom Hiddleston plays her husband, Sir Thomas Sharpe. Hiddleston is well known to all of us as Loki so it comes as no surprise that in the movie he has 'a dark past'. Jessica Chastain plays the young author. The cast list also includes Burn Gorman, Doug Jones, Mila Wasikowska, Leslie Hope and Javier Botet.
