U2 New Album Latest News; U2 Working on a Project to Save the Music Industry
It has already been confirmed that a U2 new album has been in the works. Additionally, the band has been working on a project with Apple which they are hoping might salvage a down-spiralling music industry.
As confirmed through Billboard, Bono has revealed that they are working on a digital music file format that is new and interactive which has the objective of encouraging fans to buy albums again.
"I think it's going to get very exciting for the music business," the U2 front man said, adding that the project they are working on will be "an audiovisual interactive format for music that can't be pirated and will bring back album artwork in the most powerful way, where you can play with the lyrics and get behind the songs when you're sitting on the subway with your iPad or on these big flat screens. You can see photography like you've never seen it before."
With this, Bono said through TIME magazine that he hopes that with this project, those less well-known artists and many others who are struggling in the industry who do not earn much from live performances the same way as U2, will benefit.
With regards to the upcoming U2 new album, it will be called Songs of Innocence. The U2 new album release date will then be followed by a world tour.
