Apple iPad Mini with Retina Display vs. Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet vs. Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 Comparison: Get to know which is better

Apple released its iPad Mini with Retina Display and likewise so did Sony and Samsung with the Xperia Z3 Tablet and the Galaxy 4 8.0 respectively. A host of features and functions were incorporated into these wonderful devices and to be able to see the difference among them, we have matched them inch to inch so as to bring out the shortcomings and greatness of each.

The general feel of these devices gives off the following results; the Samsung is bulky compared to the other two with an 8.4 inch display. The Sony z3 comes in second with a size of 8 inch followed by the Apple iPad Mini just shy of the others at 7.9 inches. What the iPad lacks in size, it makes up with great visuals as it appears to be the most appealing of the three with the trademark hard finish that is inherent with Apple devices and a hard screen that seems incorruptible to damage. The Sony Xperia Z3 is somewhere in the middle with metallic finishes around its edges and a glass frontal surface, but there is not much that can be said for the totally poly-carbonate build they settled for.

The camera specs of the Xperia Z3 pack the most juice with an 8.1 MP rear camera and a 2.2 MP front camera set for selfies and video calls. The Samsung Galaxy 4 8.0 follows closely with 8.0 MP back and a 2.1MP front. The Apple iPad Mini trails with what seems to be a meagre 5 MP rear and 1.2 MP front facing combination of cameras. Of course, megapixels are not everything.

Performance wise, the Sony guys pulled out all the stops as they went to equip the Z3 with a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor performing at an impressive 2.5 GHz, while the Samsung tech guys used the same architecture save for the 800 mode of the Snapdragon processor series and yielding 2.3 GHz upon cloaking. The Apple iPad comes with a much lower dual-core processor and delivers 1.3GHz of processing power. Space wise, Apple stuck to the no expansion policy and offered inbuilt 16/32/64 and 128 GB of memory options while Sony installed optional 16 and 32 on board. Samsung offered the same with Sony except they also included extension with Micro SD of up-to 128 GB.

All three are great devices. The best decision relies on the users' preferences.
