'Rush Hour' TV Series - To Be Shown on the CBS Channel

Fans of the box office hit movie series "Rush Hour" will, no doubt, be happy and excited to learn that one of their favorite films will be adapted into a TV series. This was after the pilot production has obtained and landed a commitment from the CBS channel.

As Deadline has reported, CBS has taken aggressive moves in order to secure the "Rush Hour" TV series. The action comedy episode, which was written by Bill Lawrence, who is also one of the creators of Cougar Town, and Blake McCormick, was brought to various broadcasting networks by Warner Bros. TV just this week. As soon as it was brought to the attention of big media companies, CBS relentlessly had it pursued. It was successful in being able to get the TV series adaptation, just as it did with Supergirl, another TV series from the Warner Bros. TV.

It was also explained by Deadline that WBTV, together with Lawrence's Dooxer, will be responsible for the production of the TV series adaptation.

Deadline has also reported that Brett Ratner, the director of the movie franchise, together with producer Arthur Sarkissian, will be the "Rush Hour" TV series' executive producers.

It was further explained that the TV series adaptation may be expected to go on the same premise as that of the movies themselves.

According to Indiewire, the TV series may have a storyline that follows the original box office hit movies, including the structure and the style of the films. According to the them if this was to happen, the TV adaptation will have viewers follow the life of a cop from Hong Kong (a role in the movie that was portrayed by Jackie Chan) and that of a Los Angeles Police Department officer (a character that was played by Chris Tucker in the original movies).

However, when WBTV was asked to comment about this, it declined to provide a confirmation or further explanation.

Indiewire has also reported that there has been no news yet coming from either the Warner Bros. TV side or the CBS party as to when its arrival will be or who will be joining the cast.
