The Wait is Over: Manic Drive Releases "VIP" Today
The wait is finally over, fans of Manic Drive can now pick up their brand new album "VIP" as of October 14th. For this their fifth album, the band from Toronto has decided to gone the independent route by raising their own funds for the record via Pledge Music. And to coincide wuth the album's releasee band has debuted the concept video for the title track "VIP" exclusively on their newly redesigned website - www.ManicDrive.com. Featuring Manwell from Group 1 Crew, the video is an entertaining look at red carpets, velvet ropes and roller rinks, while celebrating how God made each of us unique and for a special purpose.
To create the VIP project, Manic Drive tapped the production talents of Oh, Hush! (Cee Lo, Jamie Grace) and Nick Baumhardt (Stellar Kart, Britt Nicole). To round out the album, the band enlisted vocal collaborations with Manwell (of Group 1 Crew) on the title track "VIP", as well as Trevor McNevan from Thousand Foot Krutch on the song "Electric."
In their exclusive interview with Hallels.com, this is what the band has to say about the album: "Stylistically, the music carries familiar traits from our earlier releases. You'll still hear a fusion of Rock, Pop, funk and edgy Electronic Dance Music however, this release specifically has a more organic vibe. With our previous album "Epic", there was layers of programming, auto-tune effects, and more of a synth/keyboard driven style .Which was incredibly fun to orchestrate and write, but for this release we wanted to challenge ourselves to add more organic and acoustic instrumentation for "VIP". You'll even hear a banjo on this album."
While the VIP album is available in most online outlets and brick-and-mortar stores, iTunes is not only launching the project at a special introductory price of $7.99, but is also offering the entire back catalog of the band for the low price of $5.99.
