Robbie Seay Band Sets the Psalms to Life with New Free Album

Robbie Seay Band

Robbie Seay Band (aka RSB) has just set the Psalms alive with their new release Psalm LP.  Now, they are offering the 14-track album for free at NoiseTrade.

Robbie explains why he chose to release an album on the Psalms. "Friends,It's with great joy today that we make available "Psalms LP" for free. As many of you know, I have been a worship pastor and songwriter for many years. I have written songs for the church and in the church. By definition, I am a modern day Psalmist - though my understanding and passion for the Biblical Psalms, until recently, has been elementary.

Sure, I had favorites that i would read and a basic knowledge of the more common passages but it was not a priority for me to include the Psalms when leading worship or to write new music for the Psalms. God changed that in me and this past summer as RSB went into the studio to finalize "Psalms LP". The Old Testament theologian Gordon Wenham said "Singing or praying the Psalms is a performative act. Saying them to God alters one's relationship in a way that merely listening does not." Our hope is that you enjoy these new songs, store these Psalms within you and that together we sing and pray these Psalms in response to a loving and holy God. And so there a few things I am asking you to do as you download Psalms LP today: 1. Download and listen. 2.

If these Psalms resonate with you and if the vision of composing new music for these Psalms is something you believe in, Would you consider sharing the link with friends and family and let them know this Psalms album is available for free download?"

RSB led worship at Ecclesia, a church in the Neartown area of Houston where Robbie's brother, Chris Seay, is the teaching pastor. Many of the songs on RSB's albums are inspired by events and people within Ecclesia.

After releasing several independent albums, the band was signed to Sparrow Records in 2005 and retooled their last indie album,Better Days, for re-release on their new label. Their second album, Give Yourself Away, was released on August 28, 2007. The track "Song of Hope (Heaven Come Down)" from the album has received substantial attention on Christian radio, and charted at No. 7 on Billboard magazine's Hot Christian Songs chart.
