'Don't Mess With Texas' Movie Starring Reese Witherspoon & Sofia Vergara
Don't Mess with Texas is the upcoming comedy movie starring Reese Witherspoon (Legally Blonde, Sweet Home Alabama) and Sofia Vergara ("Modern Family"). MGM is financing the film that will see Witherspoon take on the role of a police officer and Vergara a prisoner, who are then forced to go on the run together. The 38-year-old, Witherspoon was snapped on the set of her comedy this week, wearing a full police officer's uniform, complete with a tie, a badge, and a nameplate reading "COOPER."
Don't Mess with Texas currently doesn't have a director, but Anne Fletcher (27 Dresses) is in talks to direct Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara in the new comedy film. They have been filming in New Orleans, La. Witherspoon is also set to produce the film via her company Pacific Standard along with her partner Bruna Papandrea and Dana Fox.
With her own real life legal issues lately, the Legally Blonde star was pulled over in Atlanta with her husband, Jim Toth, on April 19. Toth, 43, was put through a field sobriety test, while officers told Witherspoon to remain in her vehicle. The actress, who later said she "clearly had one drink too many," refused to stay in the car and began shouting at the law enforcer, "Do you know my name?" She added to the police officer, "You're about to find out who I am... You are going to be on national news."
No official release date has been set for Don't Mess with Texas yet. More details to be coming soon.
