Chris Tomlin Scores 17th #1 Single with "Who You Are To Me"
GRAMMY winning artist Chris Tomlin has landed his 17th career #1 single this week as "Who You Are To Me," featuring Lady A, from his #1 album Chris Tomlin & Friends, reaches the top spot on the Billboard Christian Airplay Chart. The song was written by Chris, Charles Kelley, Dave Haywood, and Hillary Scott of Lady A.
"I've always said there are good songs, great songs, and God songs," Chris shared with Billboard's Jim Asker today. "When Hillary, Dave, Charles and I sat down to write, "Who You Are To Me" basically wrote itself. Now seeing how the song has grown so quickly and how it is impacting lives it is clear that this is one of those God songs. Personally, this song is so meaningful for me and I am so grateful to radio for the love and support."
"Being a part of this incredible project with Chris has been one of our greatest joys this year!," shared Hillary of Lady A. "We knew when we wrote this song with him that it felt special to us, but we've been truly floored by the response and support from the fans and radio to take it to #1. We're so grateful to Chris and his team for believing in this song and helping share its message."
Chris and Lady A will appear on the Grand Ole Opry's Saturday, November 21 broadcast to perform "Who You Are To Me" as well as many of their own hit songs. The Opry airs on Circle TV, Gray TV stations, DISH Studio Channel 102, Sling TV and other TV affiliates as well as on streaming partners Roku, Inc., Samsung TV Plus, VIZIO FREE Channels and XUMO, and can be heard on SiriusXM as well as the Opry's flagship home 650 WSM AM and wsmonline.com.
"Who You Are To Me," which has garnered more than 18 million global streams, has become Chris' biggest single since the release of the GMA Song of the Year "Good Good Father" in 2015. "Who You Are To Me" is one of 13 tracks on Chris Tomlin & Friends.
This November, Chris is nominated for his first-ever Country Music Association Award in the Music Event of the Year category for Thomas Rhett's "Be A Light" with Reba, Hillary Scott, and Keith Urban. The 54th Annual CMA Awards will broadcast live on Wednesday, Nov. 11 8:00 - 11:00 PM/EST on ABC.
