A shopping center in North Memphis will be formally renamed today in honor of Pastor Ricky Floyd, a respected faith leader whose life and legacy continue to shape the city nearly a year after his tragic death.

The dedication ceremony will take place January 14 at 11:30 a.m. at the shopping center located at 3740 North Watkins Street. Community members, faith leaders, and supporters are expected to gather to commemorate Floyd's vision, service, and enduring impact.

Pastor Floyd purchased the property with plans to expand his ministry and deepen its reach within the North Memphis community. He served as the leader of Pursuit of God Transformation Center and Salvation Revelation Ministries, where he was widely known for his commitment to spiritual transformation, outreach, and community restoration.

Floyd was fatally shot during an argument in March 2025. The case remains ongoing, with Samantha Marion facing multiple charges, including an upgraded second-degree murder charge.

Organizers say renaming the shopping center is a tangible way to preserve Floyd's vision and ensure that his mission of faith, hope, and transformation continues to serve future generations.

"This space was part of Pastor Floyd's dream for ministry and community renewal," organizers said. "Dedicating it in his name ensures that his work and his heart for Memphis will not be forgotten."

The dedication ceremony is open to the public.
