Today Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) announces a new recording partnership with independent music company Gamma and unveils his upcoming studio album, Bully, slated for release on March 20, 2026. This marks a major step in the artist's ongoing creative evolution and reaffirms his influence across hip-hop, popular music, and contemporary spiritual expression.
Ye first shook global culture as a producer and solo artist whose boundary-pushing albums redefined hip-hop in the 21st century. Over the past decade, his engagement with Christian themes and gospel traditions has become a defining part of his musical identity. His 2019 album Jesus Is King merged hip-hop with gospel motifs and featured choral arrangements and worship-inflected lyrics that drew from his public profession of faith. Many of the album's tracks-including collaborations with gospel artists and use of his Sunday Service choir-sought to integrate the energy of gospel music with mainstream artistry, bringing renewed attention to spiritual music in contemporary culture.
Earlier works such as "Ultralight Beam" on The Life of Pablo prominently featured gospel elements and choirs, helping introduce a wider audience to spiritual soundscapes within a hip-hop framework. Songs like "24" on Donda, which charted on both Christian and gospel charts, further demonstrated his ongoing engagement with faith-infused music.
With Bully, Ye promises a new chapter that continues to explore themes of identity, remorse, and redemption through his distinctive artistic lens. While the album reflects his personal voice and vision, its roots in gospel-inspired narrative and musical traditions remain part of Ye's wider cultural impact-pushing conversations about faith, spirituality, and the role of religious expression in popular music.
"We're excited to partner with Ye on Bully," said a spokesperson for Gamma. "This album is an opportunity for a bold artist to reintroduce himself with honesty, depth, and the unmistakable influence of his musical journey-especially his contributions to bringing gospel-influenced sound into the mainstream."
Bully is scheduled to release on March 20, 2026 via Gamma and will be available across major streaming platforms and physical formats.
