One of the most anticipated moments during the House of Worship global event came when Darlene Zschech and CeCe Winans joined voices to lead the timeless anthem "Shout to the Lord." But what followed may have resonated even deeper: Zschech's powerful post-song message, delivered straight from the heart, became one of the defining declarations of the night.
Having led worship for decades, Zschech reminded the global audience that worship is not about performance or polish.
"Worship has never been about microphones or stages. It's about giving God the glory - all the glory - and the adoration He so deserves."
Worship That Pushes Back Darkness
Zschech acknowledged the very real heaviness many feel today - fear, division, uncertainty - but she did not let those realities define the atmosphere.
"At times it seems that fear is louder than faith... but I want to remind you that Jesus is alive, and His name is the final word," she declared. "Hope has a voice. Love still reigns."
From Song to Commission
Having just sung a song that has circled the globe since the 1990s, Zschech didn't point back to the past - she looked forward, challenging believers to carry worship outward.
"Imagine this moment multiplied thousands and thousands of times - from villages and cities, cathedrals and living rooms - all declaring the same name: Jesus Christ."
"This sound can shake a nation. It will break every chain."
An Invitation to Continue
She left the audience not with applause but with an assignment:
"Let these songs rise up in you... carry His praise into your home, your family, your streets. Let worship be louder than fear. Let it be brighter than the night season."
