Prime Cuts: "We Fall Down," "Breathe," "New Wine / I Am Not Alone"

Overall Grade: 4/5

AOH Music returns with BEHOLD (Acoustic Live), Vol. 2, a live worship recording captured during Array of Hope's BEHOLD gatherings-nights intentionally centered on healing, awe, and deep communion with God. Rather than refining these songs in a studio, the collective preserves the raw, unfiltered atmosphere of the room. What listeners receive is not a recreation, but a real-time encounter.

The emotional centerpiece of the album is "Breathe," the beloved classic by Michael W. Smith. Delivered with elongated phrasing and tender restraint, the performance allows every lyric to linger. The band resists embellishment, letting the stillness between notes carry as much weight as the melody itself. It is worship marked by reverence rather than volume.

Equally compelling is "We Fall Down," originally written by Lenny LeBlanc. AOH Music approaches the song with sincerity and simplicity. The arrangement remains acoustic and uncluttered, giving space for quiet surrender. There is no attempt to modernize or dramatically reinterpret it; instead, the focus is on honoring its timeless posture of humility before God.

The spontaneous medley "New Wine / I Am Not Alone" captures the heart of the BEHOLD experience. Worship leader Brianne Nealon gently guides the transition as structured worship flows into sung prayer. The shift feels organic and unforced, mirroring the kind of Spirit-led movement that cannot be scripted. It is in these unscripted moments that the album feels most alive.

Instrumental interludes further shape the record's contemplative tone. Pianist Justin Caraballo's improvisations-"Behold" and "Still"-emerge from extended silence during the live gatherings. These pieces do not aim to impress technically; instead, they create musical space for wonder and attentiveness. Bassist and music director Jack Garno's "Enter In" adds another textured layer, expanding the sonic palette while maintaining the album's acoustic warmth.

Four original compositions reveal the creative heartbeat of the collective, including "He Loves You," written by Brianne Nealon and Justin Caraballo. The song offers a gentle but confident reminder of God's nearness, fitting seamlessly alongside the well-known worship selections. Meanwhile, Kenny Fuentes' featured performance on "Breathe (Acoustic Live)" and the live rendition of "Gratitude" highlights the versatility within the AOH Music team.

Throughout the project, subtle percussion from Matt Pana, Jimmy Meier, and Matty Lester supports the arrangements without distracting from the prayerful tone. Shaker, hi-hat, snare, and cajón are used sparingly, reinforcing the album's acoustic intimacy.

More than a live album, BEHOLD (Acoustic Live), Vol. 2 functions as an invitation. It allows listeners to revisit sacred moments marked by surrender, healing, and renewed hunger for God. The emphasis is not on production spectacle but on presence. In preserving the authentic flow of those gatherings, AOH Music offers a worship experience that feels both personal and communal.
