Amid the ongoing search for her missing mother, Savannah Guthrie paused this week to celebrate a different kind of milestone: her daughter Vale's 12th birthday, marked with a heartfelt post of gratitude to God.

The "Today" co-anchor shared a collection of throwback photos on Instagram, reflecting on the day Vale was born. "On this day, 12 years ago, I will never forget this joy," Guthrie wrote. "Happy birthday to my dearest Vale, growing up so beautiful, kind, soulful, and wise. I thank God for you every day."

The post marked a rare moment unrelated to the investigation into Nancy Guthrie's disappearance, which has stretched past six months with no suspect named. Guthrie has been candid about how her children have processed the ordeal. In an earlier interview with Hoda Kotb, she recalled Vale frequently asking, "Mama, any leads? You hear anything? Any hope?" - a question Guthrie said she's tried to answer honestly while still protecting her kids' sense of security.

Guthrie has spoken openly about holding both grief and joy at once. "We can hold our sadness, and we can hold our joy," she said during a recent guest-hosting stint on "Today With Jenna & Sheinelle." "And if you don't believe it, just watch me. I'm gonna show you."

That balance was on full display this week - a mother thanking God for her daughter's life even as she continues to pray for her own mother's safe return.
