Drake's ninth studio album, Iceman, has an official release date of May 15, 2026 - and after nearly three years of waiting, here is everything fans actually need to know before it drops.
The Rollout Was Unlike Anything in Recent Memory
Drake has been building anticipation for Iceman since as early as August 2024, making this his longest-ever gap between solo albums at over 928 days since For All the Dogs.
The campaign peaked when a 25-foot ice sculpture was installed in downtown Toronto with the album's release date hidden inside. Twitch streamer Kishka retrieved a waterproof bag buried in the block of ice, livestreamed the entire unboxing to reveal May 15 - and was handed a bag of cash from Drake's team as a reward.
The Toronto Fire Department eventually stepped in to safely melt down the sculpture after fans attempted to break it open using flammable liquids and open flames. The city's fire chief cited "dangerous and unsafe activities" under the Fire Protection and Prevention Act.
Release Date
May 15, 2026. The album will be available on all major streaming platforms. Drake confirmed the date officially on Instagram after the Toronto ice sculpture stunt.
Confirmed Tracks and Features
Confirmed singles heading into Iceman include "What Did I Miss?", "Which One" with Central Cee, and "Dog House" featuring Yeat and Julia Wolf. Expected features include Young Thug, 21 Savage, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and Cash Cobain. The full official tracklist has not yet been released.
On "What Did I Miss?", Drake addresses the aftermath of his feud with Kendrick Lamar, calling out those who chose to "play both sides" rather than support him during the dispute.
What to Expect
Iceman is not Drake returning to a quiet field. He is returning after one of the most public, heavily debated, and culturally loud periods of his career - and fans are looking for sharp writing, cultural awareness, and a project that feels urgent rather than routine. After everything that has happened around his name, a normal album may not be enough.
The legal battle with UMG over Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us" also continues in the background, with Drake's team having filed a 60-page appellate brief to overturn the lawsuit's dismissal.
What About the "Fireman" Rumor?
Put it to rest. Fireman rumor originated as a meme on Reddit as early as December 2025, before going viral on April 21 when a single unverified X post gathered over 23,000 likes in one day - with no sourcing, no pgLang confirmation, and no label backing of any kind. Kendrick hasn't said a word. There is no Fireman.
The Bigger Picture
Drake's music - and particularly the records previewed on Iceman - continues to wrestle publicly with themes of fractured loyalty, accountability, and personal reckoning. For a generation watching closely, what he puts on this album will carry weight well beyond chart numbers.
Drake's Iceman drops May 15, 2026, on all major streaming platforms.
