Billie Eilish is bringing her latest tour to the big screen in a groundbreaking way, teaming up with legendary filmmaker James Cameron for a new 3D concert film set for theatrical release on May 8, 2026.
The project, titled "Billie Eilish - Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D)", captures performances from her 2025 Manchester tour stop and blends high-energy stage moments with intimate behind-the-scenes footage. The film will also premiere earlier on May 6 before its wide release through Paramount Pictures.
Co-directed by Billie Eilish and James Cameron, the film marks a rare collaboration between one of pop music's biggest stars and one of Hollywood's most influential directors. Cameron, known for films like Avatar and Titanic, also helped develop the project's immersive 3D experience using advanced camera technology designed to make audiences feel like they are on stage with the artist.
The concert film goes beyond performance alone. Cameras follow Eilish during rehearsals, backstage preparation, and reflective moments, offering a more personal look at her creative process and connection with fans. According to Cameron, the goal was to capture both the scale of the show and the emotional depth behind it.
Eilish, who has previously released a concert film in 2021, described the project as a meaningful extension of her tour experience and a way for fans who missed the live shows to still feel part of it.
Produced by Lightstorm Entertainment, Darkroom Films, and Interscope Films, the 114-minute film is expected to be one of the most visually ambitious music releases of the year.
As music and cinema continue to merge in new ways, this collaboration highlights a growing trend of artists using film not just to document concerts-but to create immersive storytelling experiences that connect audiences to both performance and purpose.
