Canadian CCM artist Jordan St. Cyr didn't waste any time in May. Hot off the release of "The Storyteller Man," he announced that "Wild Love" would be arriving the same night at Midnight Eastern - a double drop that signals this season is different.
"There's always a bit of anxiety that comes with releasing new music," St. Cyr has shared with fans. But this time, that tension lifted. After playing new material live, he described reconnecting with a joy he hadn't felt in years.
So what is "Wild Love" actually about?
St. Cyr describes it as a reflection on "the sound of my youth" - pointing to both musical nostalgia and something spiritually renewed. For a songwriter whose entire catalog has been built on meeting people in their pain, the timing is intentional. He has long stated his prayer: "that my songs would bring comfort and joy to those who hear them... that listeners would be more hopeful and open to the depths of God's love for them, knowing that their circumstances are not a reflection of how God feels about them."
That's the heartbeat of "Wild Love." In a generation where anxiety and mental health struggles are at an all-time high, the title alone points to what the Bible calls an unrelenting, pursuing love - the kind that doesn't wait for you to be okay before it shows up.
The single also marks St. Cyr heading back on the road, bringing Belle Isle along for upcoming shows - performances already becoming spaces where the new music is taking shape in real time.
The Juno Award winner and six-time GMA Covenant Award winner has made a career out of writing songs for the weary. "Wild Love" may just be his most direct message yet: you are not too broken to be loved.
