American Idol Winner Hannah Harper Reveals the Real Story Behind "String Cheese" and Why It Hit So Hard She won America's biggest singing competition five days ago. Her first thought? Getting her kids on the road.

In a post-win interview, American Idol Season 24 champion Hannah Harper opened up about what music means beyond the stage - and it starts with her three sons back home in Willow Springs, Missouri.

"I have the opportunity to share my music, and that puts me in a position to be able to travel with my boys," Harper said. "To get to show them the world and let them know there's more to life than your zip code."

For Harper, who grew up in a rural community where, as she put it, "people genuinely don't leave their entire life," the win is not just personal - it's generational. She wants her sons to see what is out there, to understand that opportunity exists beyond the small town borders they know, and to chase life with both hands.

"I just want them to see the world and know all the opportunities and live life to the fullest," she said. "That's my goal after this."

The interview even circled back to the song that started it all. When asked about bringing the kids on tour, Harper smiled and confirmed - yes, with snacks. String cheese included.

It is a small detail, but it says everything about who Hannah Harper is. She won one of the most-watched finales in recent American Idol history, turned it into a worship service, moved Carrie Underwood to tears, and got a personal message from Chris Tomlin - and her first priority is still her boys, still the ordinary moments, still the life she was living before the cameras showed up.

Her Instagram bio says it plainly: "Only a somebody to my babies and Jesus. All for His glory." That has not changed with the title.

Harper is scheduled to perform at the 19 Recordings Takeover in Nashville on June 3, part of CMA Fest week. More touring dates are expected to follow.
