Brandon "Bug" Hall, best known for playing Alfalfa in the 1994 film The Little Rascals, is facing renewed attention over his legal troubles as he seeks financial help ahead of the birth of his sixth child.
A November 8 Page Six report revisited the former child actor's arrests following his departure from Hollywood in 2020. Hall has since described giving away his savings and possessions to pursue a life centred on his Catholic faith in rural Arkansas.
In June 2020, Hall was arrested in Weatherford, Texas, after police responded to a hotel for a welfare check and possible overdose. Reports at the time said officers found air-duster cans and arrested him on suspicion of inhaling a volatile chemical. Hall later said he faced no charges; the available reporting does not establish a conviction.
His more recent arrest occurred in Ohio in April 2026. According to reporting by Us Weekly, Hall was charged with failure to appear after missing a December 31, 2024, court date connected to a traffic citation for driving without liability insurance. He was subsequently reported to be out of custody.
The renewed coverage comes after Hall launched a GoFundMe on November 5. He said his family had moved onto their Arkansas property but still needed building materials and had fallen behind on bills, including phone service, propane and an unexpected electricity hookup fee.
"Baby six is less than a month away, and I really need some help," he wrote. The campaign's initial goal was $2,000, according to Us Weekly's November 7 report.
Hall previously said his family was living in a campervan while he worked towards building a self-sufficient home. He described his decision to take a "vow of poverty" as an effort to minimise his need for income, while remaining willing to take occasional work to meet expenses.
In his latest appeal, Hall said he hoped to finish essential work before the baby's arrival and asked supporters for donations, shares or prayers. He and his wife, Jill, currently have four daughters and one son.
