Switchfoot Reveals Full Tracklist for ‘Forever Now’ Ahead of June 26 Release

GRAMMY Award-winning rock band Switchfoot has unveiled the complete tracklist for its highly anticipated new studio album, Forever Now, arriving June 26. The 13-track project marks the band's 14th full-length studio release and is being described as one of the most ambitious and narrative-driven albums of its celebrated career.

Written primarily by frontman Jon Foreman, the album features seven co-writes with bassist Tim Foreman and one collaboration with acclaimed producer Mike Elizondo, who also played a significant role in the album's creation.

"As musicians, when we are writing, we never try to write a 'Switchfoot song,'" the band shared. "Our tendency is to run the other way because we never want to say the same thing twice. We are always trying new sounds, new ideas. That is what can be really helpful as a band, a brotherhood, to say, 'no this is uniquely you, and you should say that instead of running away from it.'"

Recorded largely at Elizondo's Phantom Studios near Nashville, Forever Now emerged from a season of intense songwriting, musical exploration, and reflection on the state of modern culture. The album centers on the emotional and spiritual journey of a person's final day on Earth, exploring the questions, fears, hopes, and revelations that arise when confronted with mortality.

Jon Foreman said the project gradually revealed its deeper thematic connections during the writing process.

"With songs, the good ones at least, you're just receiving and you're not actually crafting," Foreman explained. "You're putting your cup out in the rain and hoping that you get something that feels nourishing. Halfway through a record, you start to look for meaning. I think there's a consistency here. That's when it gets really fun. These songs all have this in common."

The band introduced fans to the new era in March with the release of "Wake Up, Mr. Crow," a guitar-driven opening track that serves as an alarm clock for a restless culture. Built around a tension between major and minor chords, the song reflects what the band calls the unsettling reality of today's "strange, strange times."

Switchfoot recently followed that release with "Absolution," a powerful reflection on the spiritual and emotional questions of modern life. The song officially impacts Alternative radio this week and continues building anticipation for the full album.

"There's a whole other journey these songs will go on," Tim Foreman said. "And we're just in the discovery part of that. Let's see where these songs take us."

Forever Now adds another chapter to a remarkable career that has seen Switchfoot sell more than 10 million albums worldwide while building one of the most loyal fanbases in rock music. In 2023, the band celebrated the 20th anniversary of its landmark triple-platinum album The Beautiful Letdown with a complete re-recording and a deluxe edition featuring appearances from Tyler Joseph of Twenty One Pilots, Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, Jon Bellion, the Jonas Brothers, and others.

Following the album's release, Switchfoot will embark on the Forever Now Tour this fall with special guest Anberlin. The 38-city trek will visit major markets including Los Angeles, Chicago, Nashville, and more, bringing the band's renowned live show and new music to audiences across the United States.

Before hitting the road, the group will host its annual Bro-Am Beach Fest on June 13 in San Diego. Through the Switchfoot Bro-Am Foundation, the event supports nonprofit organizations serving unhoused, disadvantaged, and at-risk youth, with a particular emphasis on programs involving music, art, and surfing.
