Guardians of the Galaxy Sequel Confirmed for 2017, Plot Will Not be the Same with the Comics Says Marvel President
In the light of Guardians of the Galaxy's box office success, it would seem that the stellar movie's director James Gunn is gearing up for a Guardians of the Galaxy sequel. It was confirmed shortly after Marvel saw the box office receipts. What more is that they have already announced the release date!
Latest news about the Marvel hit reveals that Gunn and Marvel President, Kevin Feige, have worked on Peter Quill's parent's story even before the first film's production began. However, there will be changes and it will definitely not be the same with the comics. Comic fans may recall that Quill's real father is the Emperor of the Spartoi Empire. It is not strange for Marvel to have film adaptations of its comic books to stray away from its original content however knowing how great the first film was, the planned sequel may be a stellar production as well.
In addition to the news of Star-Lord's father making an appearance on the upcoming sequel, Thanos, voiced by Josh Brolin, has been reported to be making appearance to the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel however he won't be the focal point of the upcoming film. Thanos has previously appeared in other Marvel films such as The Avengers however did not play any pivotal role nor will play any important role in the upcoming Avengers 2 movie.
Looks like fans will just have to wait with bated breath for more news about the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel.
Expect Guardian of the Galaxy sequel to be out in theaters by July 28, 2017.
