Tasha Layton has a new song out - and she wrote it for a city.

The BEC Recordings artist released "There Is a God" on June 5, a brand new single now streaming on all major platforms. In her Facebook announcement, Layton addressed the song directly to Los Angeles - the city where she launched her music career - with a message that goes far beyond one place: "There is a God who loves you. He made you. He knows you. And He is chasing after you with a love deeper than anything you've ever felt."

It's a boldly simple declaration from one of Christian music's most celebrated voices. Layton has spent this season inviting audiences into deeply personal spiritual territory, including a recent three-day retreat alone in Death Valley where she sought stillness, surrender, and a deeper connection with God - an experience that shaped her short film Meet Me in the Valley. "There Is a God" feels like the next step out of that desert: not a question anymore, but an answer.

Known for back-to-back No. 1 hits "Look What You've Done" and "How Far," Layton has built a reputation as one of Christian music's most trusted voices of encouragement - the kind of artist who writes songs people reach for when everything else falls apart. This new single fits squarely in that tradition: honest, direct, and rooted in the belief that God is not distant but pursuing.

Before her career in Christian music, Layton spent years in Los Angeles as a background vocalist for Katy Perry and a session singer for Disneyland, Cirque du Soleil, and more. Writing a song addressed to that city carries the weight of someone who knows it personally - not as a tourist, but as someone who once searched for belonging there, and eventually found it.

"There Is a God" is available now on all streaming platforms.
