New York's biggest night on the basketball court got an unforgettable halftime moment - and Cardi B made sure of it.
The Grammy-winning rapper took the court at Madison Square Garden on June 8 for the halftime show during Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs. The night was already historic - it marked the first NBA Finals game at MSG for the Knicks since 1999, with New York entering the night up 2-0 in the series after sweeping both road games in San Antonio.
Cardi opened the set with "Bodega Baddie" from her sophomore album Am I the Drama?, surrounded by dancers in orange Knicks jersey dresses. She then made her way to center court and delivered her history-making chart-topper "Bodak Yellow." After the performance, Cardi returned to her courtside seat alongside her four-year-old son Wave to watch the second half.
Her Little Miss Drama Tour earlier this year grossed over $70 million and featured two MSG stops in March - making Monday night feel less like a one-off and more like a homecoming for a woman who has claimed New York as her stage all year long.
For a city that prays, cheers, and believes together, there's something to be said about a mom who, after the spotlights faded, simply sat down next to her little boy and watched the rest of the game.
