Not every faith story in music begins on Music Row.
Country reggae singer Wesrok is making waves with his latest single, "God Knows Me Better" - a gospel-infused ballad that recently appeared on the US iTunes chart alongside established international acts, including Hawaiian music icon Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. For an independent artist working outside the traditional Nashville system, it's a meaningful milestone. Jamaica Observer
The song is rooted in faith, reflection, and a growing conviction that life's greatest answers are found in God. "I wrote this song because I believe that at some point in your life, you have to look at where you are and the world at large and ask the question: Why are we here?" Wesrok said. "Which life is the best you can live? By all accounts, instead of doing things that will take you further away from God, it is best to do the things that draw you nearer." Jamaica Observer

Before pursuing music full-time, Wesrok served as a police officer - an experience that exposed him to both the challenges and triumphs of everyday life. Those encounters continue to influence his songwriting, which often explores themes of perseverance, redemption, love, and faith. NY Carib News
Five years ago, he made the decision to pursue music professionally and has since carved out a distinctive niche by fusing country, reggae, and inspirational music. NY Carib News
While official sales figures are still being finalized, Wesrok says the single generated more than 500 pre-orders before its release, helping propel it onto the US iTunes chart. "I am awaiting the actual sales figures, but I know we made over 500 during the pre-order stage," he said. Jamaica Observer
In a year when country and Christian music have moved closer together than at almost any point in recent memory, "God Knows Me Better" is a quiet reminder that the conversation is bigger than any one city or industry.
"God Knows Me Better" is available now on all streaming platforms.
