More than four months after Nancy Guthrie vanished from her Tucson, Arizona home, the latest search effort tied to her case has been postponed - but the volunteers behind it say they have no plans to stop looking.

Buscando Corazones Nogales, a Mexican volunteer group that searches for missing persons, had been working off an anonymous tip claiming Guthrie's remains were buried in the Mariposa area near Nogales, Sonora.

Two earlier searches in May and on June 10 turned up nothing connected to Guthrie, though volunteers did uncover 25 unrelated unmarked graves in the broader region.

The group had planned to return on June 16 to search two new locations described as "vast" and "difficult to cover," but 12News reports that search has now been pushed back.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department says it has not been contacted by Mexican authorities regarding the tip and that the investigation, which was upgraded to a homicide case on June 9, "remains active and ongoing." Mexican officials have stated there is no evidence Guthrie ever entered or traveled through Sonora.

Through it all, the one thing that hasn't wavered is the family's faith. Guthrie, 84, was first reported missing after she failed to show up for a Sunday church livestream - something her family said she never missed.

Her daughter Savannah, co-anchor of NBC's Today, has repeatedly thanked supporters on air for their prayers, telling viewers, "We feel your prayers."

More than four months into an investigation without answers, that faith remains the steady thread tying the family - and the community praying alongside them - together.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or Tucson's 88-Crime tip line at 520-882-7463.
