Jaye King doesn't write around the pain. He writes straight through it.
The Nashville-based singer-songwriter and Centricity Music artist released his new single "Valleys" this week, and the story behind it is just as striking as the song itself.
In his own words on Facebook, King explained what "Valleys" means to him: "Valleys represent difficulty, testing - but also a place of renewal and victory. 2020 was a valley year. It revealed a lot.
That valley season was a time God really spoke to me, and this song speaks to that."
He closed his post with a message to anyone in a hard season right now: "If you're in a valley, you're not there alone.
Where He leads you, He won't leave you. I hope this song reminds you of God's faithfulness. Even in the valley."
King also took a moment to thank his wife Chelsea King, calling her someone who champions these seasons and walks by faith with him.
A Florida native now based in Nashville, King's music blends feel-good funk, smooth R&B, and enthusiastic Gospel - with lyrics fueled by high optimism and an unshakable belief in a God who is in the business of redemption.
Raised by a single mom, King grew into a man who, by his own account, could never write a story that good on his own.
"When you're an artist, usually it's 'look at me,'" King has said. "But my sole calling is to tell people to look at Him."
"Valleys" is out now on all streaming platforms.
