Days after her emotional homecoming celebration in McComb, Mississippi, Brandy Norwood sat down for a follow-up interview where she credited her decades-long career to something bigger than talent alone: answered prayer.

"I just want to say to all of you who poured into me, prayed for me and loved me: I so appreciate it, because your prayers are working - and they've been answered," Brandy told WLBT. "I'm a testimony to answered prayer, for sure." The comments came just days after JubileeCast reported on her hometown celebration, where the Grammy winner received the Key to the City and teased her first new album since 2020's "B7."

In the new interview, Brandy reflected on her nearly four-decade run in music, from her breakout debut album through "The Boy Is Mine," her Grammy-winning duet with Monica. She offered advice to young people from small towns like McComb who dream of a career in entertainment: "Understand that your dreams are true and they're real. All you have to do is believe in your dreams. Belief can take you places you really deserve to go. It takes belief, courage and dedication."

She also spoke about her 2024 memoir, "Danger: My Own Story of Survival," calling it a source of connection with fans navigating their own hard seasons. "I honestly want people to find themselves in my story and find their own courage - so they can overcome the things in their life like I had to in my life," she said.

As for what's ahead, Brandy said she isn't slowing down. "I want to do a lot more touring and a lot more entertaining - touching people and blessing people," she said. Along with the hinted new album, she recently donated personal memorabilia to help launch a music museum in McComb, set to open in 2027, honoring the city's musical legacy alongside fellow McComb natives Bo Diddley and the Williams Brothers.
