Darius Rucker is already thinking about his final bow - and fans may have less time with the country superstar than they expected.
During a candid appearance on The Dan Patrick Show, the 60-year-old singer admitted he's seriously considering retiring from full-time touring within the next two years after an exhausting schedule that saw him perform 110 shows in 2025.
"I've been really looking at it," Rucker confessed, explaining that while he still loves making music and performing, he's increasingly enjoying life away from the road. "I'm really starting to like being home a lot."
But don't expect him to disappear quietly.
Before hanging up his touring boots, Rucker says there's one major item left on his bucket list: one final reunion run with Hootie & the Blowfish, capped by a massive hometown farewell concert at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina.
"We have to finish at Williams-Brice Stadium," he said. "Our last show, when we say we're done, it's gotta be at Williams-Brice Stadium."
The venue carries deep emotional significance for the band, whose members first met while attending the University of South Carolina. It's also where Hootie & the Blowfish helped bring Farm Aid to South Carolina in 1996 following devastating natural disasters, making it a fitting place to close the book on one of rock's most beloved acts.
Away from music, Rucker has another milestone on the horizon. He's currently planning his wedding to fiancée Emily Deahl, with a celebration expected in Charleston next February. However, the singer hinted that fans shouldn't assume that's when they'll officially tie the knot, joking that the public event will be "just gonna be the party."
For now, Rucker isn't saying goodbye just yet-but his comments make it clear that the countdown to his final encore has officially begun.
