BTS turned one of their biggest hits into a World Cup anthem.
The K-pop group performed a soccer-inspired version of "Dynamite" during FIFA's first-ever World Cup Final Halftime Show on Sunday, July 19, at New York New Jersey Stadium, dressed in red-and-white uniforms styled after soccer kits and delivering their signature choreography with lyrics reworked for the occasion. All seven members took part in the 11-minute set, joining co-headliners Madonna, Shakira and Justin Bieber in the historic performance curated by Coldplay's Chris Martin.
The group's appearance capped a massive comeback stretch for BTS in 2026, following their reunion after completing military service. Their performance came the same week their "NORMAL" music video set a new Spotify record for a K-pop release, and just months after their album ARIRANG debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and held the top spot for three straight weeks.
BTS shared the halftime stage with a packed lineup that included Burna Boy, conductor Gustavo Dudamel and the PS22 Chorus, all part of a show supporting the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund's $100 million push for children's education worldwide. Right before them, Justin Bieber used his own brief window to perform an acoustic version of "Everything Hallelujah," his worship single - a reminder that even inside pop music's biggest global spectacle, a genuine moment of faith found room to shine through.
