Jeana Keough, one of the original cast members of "The Real Housewives of Orange County," is now facing a serious health battle - and her family is asking the public to help carry her through it, starting with prayer.
Keough's daughter, Kara Bosworth, shared on Instagram Sunday that her 70-year-old mother has been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue. Bosworth explained that Keough had mentioned a painful spot on her tongue months earlier, initially assuming it was caused by a tooth, before a biopsy confirmed cancer.
What began as one surgery became a longer fight after doctors found the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes, according to Bosworth. Keough is now in her fifth week of chemotherapy, radiation and immunotherapy, treatments her daughter described as exhausting and making it painfully difficult for her mother to eat or drink.
Bosworth and her brother, Shane, launched a GoFundMe to help cover their mother's medical costs and daily living expenses while she's unable to work.
In the fundraiser description, Bosworth made a direct appeal for support beyond money too, closing with a request that resonated widely: whether or not someone could donate, she asked them to simply keep Jeana in their prayers.
That request has clearly struck a chord. In the comments of the family's Instagram post, well-wishers from across Keough's Bravo circle and beyond responded with messages of prayer and encouragement for her healing.
For a reality TV figure who spent years in the public eye, this latest chapter is a quieter, harder one - and one where her family has chosen to lean not just on fundraising, but on faith and community.
