The Chosen has released the first trailer for its highly anticipated sixth season-and viewers are already calling it the series' most emotional and intense chapter yet.
Unveiled during a special livestream hosted by creator Dallas Jenkins, the teaser offers a powerful first look at Jesus' final hours before the crucifixion, promising the biggest, heaviest, and most emotional season the blockbuster faith-based drama has ever attempted.
"This season is the important and biggest and heaviest season we have ever done," Jenkins told fans before unveiling the trailer. "But there's also moments of pure joy and meaning as well."

The chilling footage opens with a heartbreaking exchange between Jesus, played by Jonathan Roumie, and His mother Mary. As she gently touches His bruised and bloodied face beneath the crown of thorns, she whispers, "My boy. My heart." Jesus quietly responds, "I'm here"-a moment already leaving fans in tears across social media.
The trailer doesn't shy away from the brutality surrounding Christ's final hours. Roman soldiers are shown preparing the crown of thorns and the infamous scourging whip, while Pontius Pilate, religious leaders, and the growing crowds all move toward the events that will forever change history.
The emotional weight continues as the disciples struggle to comprehend what is unfolding. Judas is seen screaming in despair before a mysterious figure carrying a noose approaches a tree, hinting at his tragic fate.
The teaser reaches its devastating climax with Mary Magdalene standing at the foot of the cross as Jesus' blood falls to the ground. Jonathan Roumie's portrayal captures one of Scripture's most moving moments as Jesus cries out, "Father... forgive them."
Fans have eagerly awaited the next chapter following the record-breaking success of Season 5, and Season 6 promises to bring the Passion narrative to life on a scale never before seen in the series. Roumie has previously revealed the enormous physical and emotional toll filming the crucifixion scenes has taken on him, adding even more anticipation surrounding the production.
Season 6 will begin streaming on 15 November on Prime Video, while the epic finale, The Chosen: Crucifixion, will receive an exclusive theatrical release in spring 2027, giving audiences the opportunity to experience one of Christianity's most significant events on the big screen.
