Fans at Chris Stapleton's sold-out concert at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati were urged to take shelter Saturday evening as storms moved through the area, disrupting the lineup for his "All-American Road Show" tour stop.
Stadium organizers announced that opening act Allen Stone would no longer perform due to the incoming weather. Lainey Wilson remained on schedule to open around 6:45 p.m., with Stapleton still expected to take the stage at 9 p.m.
Forecasters had warned days ahead of the show that slow-moving storms and heavy rain were likely across the region Saturday, with isolated strong storms and the possibility of localized flooding and damaging winds. The National Weather Service had put the chance of showers and thunderstorms at 60 percent, with rain most likely developing after 4 p.m. and continuing into the evening, alongside gusts up to 21 mph.
Local outlet WCPO had reported ahead of the show that it was expected to proceed regardless of weather, with the stadium planning to communicate any severe-weather updates through video boards, PA announcements and social media. That plan was put into action Saturday as the shelter advisory went out to the crowd.
Stapleton, an 11-time Grammy winner, brought the tour to Cincinnati as part of a run of more than 20 newly confirmed fall stops. He was joined for the Cincinnati stop by 2025 CMA Entertainer of the Year Lainey Wilson.
