Koe Wetzel and Ella Langley are teaming up again, with the pair set to release their new duet "Jaded" this Friday, August 7, as part of the deluxe edition of Wetzel's album The Night Champion.
It marks their first collaboration since 2023's Gold-certified "That's Why We Fight," which first introduced the two artists as duet partners early in both of their careers. The new track was written by Wetzel, Langley, Jordan Schmidt and ERNEST. Built around a conversation between two people carrying the weight of past heartbreak, the song centers on the question of how someone becomes so jaded.
Wetzel called Langley one of his favorite artists to write and sing with, saying he and Langley had talked about getting back in the studio together ever since recording their first duet. Langley echoed the sentiment, noting Wetzel was one of the first artists she ever collaborated with and toured alongside, back in 2022.
The reunion comes during a career-defining year for Langley, whose hit "Choosin' Texas" has spent multiple months at No. 1. It also follows a season of personal reflection for the singer, who has spoken openly in recent months about leaning back into her faith during a difficult emotional stretch - a journey she's said reshaped both her outlook and her music.
For Wetzel, the release also marks what he's calling a turning point of his own, describing "Jaded" and The Night Champion as closing the book on his harder-living days.
"Jaded" drops Friday, August 7.
