Just when it seemed Spider-Man: Brand New Day couldn't possibly break another record, Tom Holland's web-slinger has apparently found one more.

The latest Spider-Man blockbuster has now set a 10-day North American box office record, adding another headline-making achievement to what is quickly becoming one of the biggest theatrical runs Hollywood has seen.

And at this point, the question may no longer be whether Brand New Day is a monster hit. It's whether Spider-Man is about to join the incredibly exclusive $2 billion club.

After exploding out of the gate with a massive opening weekend, Brand New Day refused to behave like a normal blockbuster in weekend two. The Sony and Marvel release reportedly pulled in around $145 million domestically during its sophomore frame, one of the biggest second weekends in box office history.

That means audiences didn't simply rush out to see Tom Holland, Zendaya and company during opening weekend and move on. They came back-or a whole lot of people who missed weekend one finally decided they needed to know what everyone else was talking about.

The result? Brand New Day has reportedly climbed to roughly $655 million domestically and $1.67 billion worldwide after only two weekends.

Yes, you read that correctly: $1.67 billion.

Suddenly, $2 billion doesn't look like some wild fan prediction. It looks like the next milestone waiting to fall.

The numbers are especially eye-popping because Brand New Day reportedly crossed the $1 billion worldwide mark in just six days. Now, only days later, another enormous chunk has been added to the total.

And Spider-Man's domination is making life rather uncomfortable for everybody else arriving at theaters.

New releases including One Night Only, Super Troopers 3 and Eli Roth's Ice Cream Man struggled to make anything approaching the same noise as audiences continued flocking to the two movies dominating the summer conversation: Brand New Day and Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey.

Nolan isn't exactly suffering in Spider-Man's shadow, either. The Odyssey has reportedly crossed $1.1 billion worldwide, becoming the biggest global box office performer of the filmmaker's career.

So Hollywood currently has the unusual problem of watching two enormous movies vacuum up audience attention at the same time.

But Spider-Man is operating on another level.

With a record-breaking first 10 days in North America and approximately $1.67 billion already accumulated worldwide, Brand New Day is now entering the territory where some previously ridiculous questions start sounding surprisingly reasonable.

How soon does it reach $2 billion? Could it eventually threaten the biggest worldwide grosses ever? And just how much money will be left on the table for everybody else while Spider-Man keeps swinging?

One thing seems certain: the Brand New Day box office story isn't finished yet.
