A former In-N-Out cook is suing the fast-food chain, alleging she was pushed out of her job after her longtime Sunday church schedule became a source of workplace conflict under new management.

Arianna Rodriguez worked at In-N-Out's Long Beach, California location for nearly five years without disciplinary issues, according to the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court. She claims she had maintained a schedule allowing her to attend Sunday church services since she started in 2021 - until a new manager arrived in October 2025.

According to the complaint, her Sunday availability quickly became "a recurring source of workplace conflict," leading to her first write-up in nearly five years on the job. Rodriguez says she raised the issue with upper management in December, but her concerns went unaddressed.

The situation escalated on June 24, when Rodriguez was suspended over an incident involving food she says she believed to be waste, based on practices she'd previously seen at the restaurant. She alleges other employees who did the same thing only received warnings. She was fired on July 3 for an alleged policy violation.

Rodriguez's 12-count lawsuit accuses In-N-Out of religious discrimination, retaliation, hostile work environment, and wrongful termination. She's seeking lost wages, damages, and possible reinstatement.

The claims have not been proven in court, and In-N-Out has not publicly responded. The lawsuit lands in an interesting spot given In-N-Out's own long-running practice of printing Bible verse references on its cups and wrappers - a detail that hasn't gone unnoticed as the story spreads online.

Whether the case moves forward will likely hinge on whether Rodriguez's schedule change and firing are found to be connected - or simply a coincidence of timing.
