Cardi B is opening up about what it really takes to balance a music career with raising four children, saying the hardest part isn't the fame - it's the time away from her kids.
Speaking to Vogue Arabia, the Grammy-winning rapper admitted the demands of touring and performing often pull her away from home. "I try my best to have my kids around me as much as possible, but sometimes I can't be with them," she said. "Mothers have to make sacrifices."
Cardi compared her situation to other demanding careers that require parents to be away from their children for stretches of time, pointing out that professionals like lawyers face similar trade-offs when work takes them out of town. Rather than framing it as a complaint, she described it as simply part of providing for her family.
She said she hopes her children will one day understand the choices she's made. "I hope that my kids look at what I do and understand, 'Mom was working her ass off,'" Cardi said. "She wasn't clubbing, she wasn't dating, she wasn't partying... Instead, she was making sacrifices for a better living, you know what I'm saying?"
