Hayden Panettiere's final hours are coming into sharper-and more unsettling-focus.
The 36-year-old Nashville and Heroes star reportedly boarded a flight from Los Angeles to South Carolina on Saturday, August 15, accompanied by her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson. By the following afternoon, Panettiere had been found unresponsive inside a Greenville apartment and pronounced dead.
According to TMZ, Panettiere and Hickerson flew south only one day before her death. Page Six reported that the actress apparently remained inside the residence after arriving, making that hurried journey one of the most closely scrutinized pieces of her final timeline.
Emergency crews were called to the Judson Mill Lofts shortly before 2 p.m. on August 16 following a report of an unresponsive woman. First responders performed CPR, but Panettiere was pronounced dead at 2:31 p.m., according to FOX Carolina.

A redacted police report contains another detail now attracting attention: Zach was described as "very emotional" while paramedics worked on Panettiere, while Brian reportedly became emotional after she was pronounced dead. Brian also gave investigators a bag containing medications that Panettiere had allegedly been taking.
Authorities executed a search warrant at the apartment, and investigators were told that surveillance footage was available showing Panettiere and the Hickerson brothers entering and leaving the complex. That footage could help establish precisely when the trio arrived and whether anyone else visited the residence.
The circumstances have inevitably placed renewed attention on Panettiere's turbulent history with Brian. He previously pleaded no contest to felony domestic-violence charges stemming from incidents involving the actress. Just three days before her death, a California judge reportedly rejected his attempt to have those convictions reduced to misdemeanors.
Nevertheless, authorities have reported no visible injuries, trauma or preliminary evidence of foul play. Brian has not been named publicly as a suspect or person of interest. His attorney said Panettiere's death remains under investigation and urged the public to allow that process to proceed.
The official cause and manner of death remain undetermined while toxicology and other tests are completed. Although emergency dispatch audio reportedly mentioned a possible overdose, that has not been established as the cause of death. The DEA has reportedly joined the investigation, but officials have not disclosed the precise nature of its involvement.
