Tauren Wells is giving fans another taste of his upcoming live album, releasing the live version of "Serve The Lord" featuring longtime collaborator Davies.
The track, recorded live at Austin City Limits' Moody Theater in Austin, Texas, is the latest single from Wells' forthcoming project, Here Comes the Church, arriving October 2. It follows the live release of "What A Miracle Feels Like" with Naomi Raine, which topped 1 million streams in its first week and reached No. 1 on the Vevo video charts.
For Wells, the "Serve The Lord" collaboration is personal. "Davies. and I have been making music and leading rooms together since Bible college," Wells shared. "He has been an integral part of my life personally and professionally this whole time!" The two, along with Church of Whitestone Worship Pastor Demetri Wells, originally co-wrote the song as a declaration of devotion before Davies and his family relocated from Nashville to Austin to help launch Wells' church.
Here Comes the Church was recorded live in front of a sold-out crowd and features a lineup of guest artists including Israel Houghton, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Naomi Raine, Hulvey and Pastor Mike Jr. Wells described the project as a call toward unity: "This isn't just a gospel album, a Spanish-language album, a black album, or a white album... the record is an expression of my goal to draw everyone out of the little worlds that we separately exist in and into a place of unity."
