Paris Brosnan is stepping further out of his famous father's shadow-and he has landed a very familiar Hollywood mentor for the journey. The 25-year-old son of former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan will appear alongside The Lord of the Rings legend John Rhys-Davies in the heartwarming new adventure movie Seniors.
Forester Film and Collide Distribution have released the official trailer and key art for the film, which will arrive in select theaters this fall. Blending comedy, adventure and several emotional life lessons, Seniors centers on an unlikely friendship between a troubled teenager and a stubborn military veteran who refuses to let age bring his adventures to an end.
When the teenager is assigned community service at a retirement home, he expects little more than a tedious punishment. Instead, he is recruited into a secret treasure hunt by the veteran and his eccentric group of senior citizens, all determined to prove that their most exciting days are not necessarily behind them.
While the premise is charming, the behind-the-scenes connection between Rhys-Davies and the Brosnan family makes the movie even more intriguing. Rhys-Davies revealed that he knew and encouraged Pierce Brosnan years ago, making his opportunity to work with the actor's son feel like an emotional full-circle moment.
"Having known and encouraged Pierce Brosnan years ago, it was especially meaningful to now work alongside Paris," Rhys-Davies said. "In many ways, that full-circle experience reflects the heart of this film and the importance of investing in one another across generations."
Paris, the younger son of Pierce Brosnan and journalist Keely Shaye Brosnan, has already attracted attention as a model, artist and filmmaker. He previously appeared in the Western thriller The Unholy Trinity, which starred his father alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Brandon Lessard. Now, Seniors gives the emerging actor another opportunity to establish his own screen identity.
The film also stars Bethany Anne Lind of Ozark, Eric Mendenhall of Outer Banks, Sophia Echendu of Chicago P.D. and Tyler C. Toney. Erica Leigh Dick wrote the screenplay, while Lance Clark makes his feature directorial debut and also serves as a producer alongside Matt Webb.
"Beneath the adventure and comedy of Seniors is a story about legacy, purpose, and the unexpected relationships that can change the course of our lives," Clark said. "We hope audiences laugh together, cry together, and leave the theater reminded that every generation has something meaningful to offer."
The film's emphasis on purpose, second chances and the value of every human life gives Seniors a distinctly uplifting edge. Although it is not being promoted as an overtly preachy movie, its distribution through faith-based entertainment company Collide Distribution suggests it is designed to appeal strongly to Christian families and viewers looking for clean, inspirational entertainment.
Seniors also has an unusual educational story behind it. Students from Huntington University worked with established industry professionals in key production roles, gaining hands-on experience throughout pre-production, filming, post-production and distribution. Forester Film operates as the university's professional film-production arm, pairing emerging filmmakers with experienced mentors.
That arrangement fittingly echoes the movie itself: one generation investing in the next. With an iconic fantasy star, the handsome son of James Bond and a treasure hunt led by rebellious retirees, Seniors may be one of the fall's most unexpectedly delightful adventures.
