Bunnie Xo may look strong on social media, but behind the scenes, her divorce from country superstar Jelly Roll reportedly left her physically and emotionally devastated.
The Dumb Blonde podcast host revealed the frightening toll of the breakup during a conversation with Jenna Bush Hager on the Open Book podcast. Bunnie said that although fans did not see her openly weeping online, that did not mean she escaped the marriage without a broken heart.
"I think that's why everybody is mistaken, because I'm not crying on my phone on social media," she explained. "My heart was shattered, but guess what? It's healing, and it's coming back even stronger."
But Bunnie's private suffering apparently went far beyond tears. She disclosed that members of her team sometimes had to lift her from the floor and administer IVs because she was barely eating.
"There [were] moments when my team had to pick me up off the floor and give me IVs," she recalled. "I wasn't eating. I was eating baby food to get by. I lost 20 pounds. Heartbreak, man. It's the best freaking diet."
The painful revelations offer a much darker picture of the breakup than Bunnie's confident public appearances might suggest. Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, filed for divorce in May 2026 after the couple had been married for nearly a decade. Their divorce was reportedly finalized in July.
Bunnie previously said the marriage ended following a heated Mother's Day argument in which she told Jelly Roll to file for divorce. According to her account, she did not expect him to follow through, leaving her blindsided when he did. She has nevertheless insisted that infidelity did not cause the split and that the former couple remains connected by friendship and mutual respect.
Adding another unexpected layer to the story, Bunnie has said that she and Jelly Roll still intend to have a child together following their difficult IVF journey. The pair previously endured the loss of four embryos, and Bunnie indicated that they hope to raise their future "little Nugget" within a loving co-parenting arrangement.
For now, Bunnie is determined not to let the collapse of her marriage become the final word on her life. Her polished social-media presence may have concealed just how badly she was hurting, but she says her shattered heart is finally healing-and returning stronger than before.
