Stevie Nicks Mourns as Younger Brother Christopher Dies at 72 After Private Cancer Battle

Christopher Aaron Nicks, the younger brother of Fleetwood Mac icon Stevie Nicks, died early Friday, September 4, after privately battling cancer for two and a half years. He was 72.

His daughter, Nixi Parkinson Nicks, announced the death on Instagram, sharing a photo of herself holding her father's hand and writing, "second star to the right, and straight on till morning. I love you, daddy. Rest easy." She later posted a longer tribute to her Instagram Stories revealing that her father died surrounded by family, and that his illness had been kept quiet by his own choice.

"Some of you may know that he has spent the last 2.5 years battling a cancer diagnosis, and to some this may come as a shock," she wrote. "If this is news to you, please know it was because he never wanted people to worry about him that he kept this to himself."

Nixi went on to remember the impact her father had on those close to him, calling his friends his "lost boys" and closing her tribute with, "Rest easy, Coach. We will see you in Neverland."

Christopher was five years younger than Stevie and the two grew close as adults; he made cameo appearances in some of her music videos over the years. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Lori Perry-Nicks, a former backing vocalist for Stevie.

As word spread, fans and well-wishers flooded social media with prayers and condolences for the Nicks family, with many noting how quietly and gracefully Christopher had carried his private battle. Stevie Nicks had not issued a public statement at the time of writing.
