Patrick Clancy is speaking publicly for the first time since a mistrial was declared in his ex-wife Lindsay Clancy's murder case, and the interview is set to air this Sunday at 7 p.m. on CBS and Paramount+.
According to a network promo, the "60 Minutes" segment will cover "his grief, his memories of his children, and the baseless conspiracy theories that flooded social media" following the trial. Patrick has previously addressed the online theories only through written statements from his attorneys, so this marks his first time discussing them on camera.
A Case Still Unresolved
Lindsay Clancy was charged in the January 2023 deaths of the couple's three children - 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan - in Duxbury, Massachusetts. Her defense argued that severe postpartum psychosis left her unable to understand her actions, while prosecutors maintained she acted deliberately. After more than seven days of deliberation, jurors deadlocked 11-1 in favor of an insanity finding, and Judge William F. Sullivan declared a mistrial on September 4. Prosecutors have not said whether they will retry the case, with a key hearing scheduled for September 29.
Patrick, who testified during the trial, has described Lindsay as a "very dedicated" mother and told The New Yorker, "I wasn't married to a monster - I was married to someone who got sick."
As the legal process continues, the case has reignited a national conversation about postpartum mental health and the justice system's ability to weigh mental illness against accountability - a conversation many in the faith community have also joined, praying for healing for a family that has already endured unimaginable loss regardless of how the courts ultimately rule.
