North Carolina-based hard rock band Set For The Fall has released its highly anticipated third studio album, I Said What I Said, marking the group's first full-length project in more than seven years.
The new album is available now through Vere Music, with global distribution from Warner Music Group's independent distribution arm, ADA. The release represents a major new chapter for the band as it combines heavy guitars, intense vocals, and soaring melodies with deeply personal themes surrounding pain, resilience, loss, restoration, and hope.
At the center of the album is "Product of Pressure," featuring TJ Harris of Decyfer Down. The track opens the project with what the band describes as a mission statement, reflecting Set For The Fall's determination to make its mark in the rock scene after a difficult season.
The song was originally produced by Andrew Baylis, whose credits include work with Jelly Roll, Madball, and Brantley Gilbert. For the album version, Harris contributed additional vocals, while Set For The Fall drummer Dylan McLain created a new mix that gives the song an even more forceful sound.
Guitarist Donovan Roybal explained that recording the song became a turning point for the band, prompting the members to approach their music with renewed commitment and purpose.
Guitarist Harrison Muffley described "Product of Pressure" as a reflection of the band's journey. He compared the experience to the formation of a diamond, where pressure and hardship can ultimately produce something beautiful.
That idea carries throughout I Said What I Said. Recorded across four years, the album explores universal experiences including anger, anxiety, love, loss, rejection, and restoration. Rather than focusing only on hardship, the project also points toward perseverance and the possibility of something beyond the pain.
Set For The Fall features Joey Lassiter on vocals, Harrison Muffley and Donovan Roybal on guitars, and Dylan McLain on drums. The band's sound continues to bridge the intensity of metal with the melodic accessibility associated with hard rock acts such as Creed, Staind, Seether, and Sevendust.
The album was developed with several producers and songwriters, including Baylis, Evan McKeever, Curtis Martin, Buster Odeholm, and Chris Linck, with McLain contributing additional production and mixing. "Another Life" was mastered by Ted Jensen, whose extensive credits include work with Green Day, Alice In Chains, and The Eagles.
With more than 50,000 monthly Spotify listeners, Set For The Fall has also continued building its audience through live performances alongside artists including Skillet, Behold The Beloved, and Relentless Flood.
For the band, the new album is ultimately about responding to circumstances that cannot always be controlled. Muffley pointed to personal loss, betrayal, family responsibilities, and the realities of life as experiences that have shaped the group while also strengthening its resolve to continue creating music.
"I Said What I Said" now gives Set For The Fall a new musical statement after years of work, pairing the band's aggressive rock sound with songs that confront difficult realities while leaving room for resilience, restoration, and hope.
