GRAMMY-winning rock band Switchfoot has launched its highly anticipated Forever Now Tour with a sold-out opening night and packed crowds across two countries and five cities during its first week on the road.
The tour began September 16 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, before continuing through Fort Wayne, Indiana, several festival appearances, and a final opening-weekend stop across the border in Canada on September 20. In just five days, the band traveled approximately 2,200 miles and performed for more than 20,000 people.
"It is a gift to be back on the road doing what we love," said lead vocalist Jon Foreman, reflecting on the band's opening stretch and the opportunity to perform songs from the new album for fans.
Named after Switchfoot's latest album, Forever Now, the tour will visit 38 cities and feature special guest Anberlin on select dates. Fans can expect a mix of longtime favorites, including "Meant to Live" and "Dare You To Move," alongside new material from Forever Now, including the current single "Absolution," which is climbing the Alternative charts.
Released as Switchfoot's 14th studio album and first record in five years, Forever Now takes a thematic and narrative-driven approach to its songwriting. The 13-track project explores the emotional experience of a person's final day of life and the questions that can emerge when confronted with mortality.
Produced by longtime collaborator Mike Elizondo and recorded largely at his Phantom Studios near Nashville, the album also marks a return to the band's guitar-driven rock sound while continuing its emphasis on emotionally resonant storytelling.
With nearly three decades of music behind them, Switchfoot has sold more than 10 million albums, including the 3x Platinum The Beautiful Letdown and GRAMMY-winning Hello Hurricane. The California-bred band has also sold more than five million concert tickets across more than 40 countries.

Beyond the stage, Switchfoot continues its community work through the Bro-Am Foundation, which has raised more than $3 million over the past two decades to support at-risk youth in the band's hometown of San Diego.
