Trippie Redd's distinctive all-black Florida mansion has become the scene of a police investigation, with officers serving a search warrant at the property on Tuesday, October 6. The search has raised questions about what brought investigators to the rapper's home, but authorities have not publicly disclosed what they were looking for or whether Redd himself is the focus of the case.
NBC 6 South Florida reported that several police cars were spotted outside the residence in Southwest Ranches, a community in Broward County. Davie Police officials confirmed their officers were assisting Miami Police in serving the warrant as part of an ongoing investigation. Officials did not release the circumstances that prompted the search.
Complex separately reported receiving confirmation from a Davie Police representative that the City of Miami Police Department is leading the investigation. That establishes which agency is handling the case, although the underlying allegations and the scope of the warrant remain undisclosed in the reporting reviewed.
The property was already attracting attention long before police arrived. According to Baller Alert, Redd purchased the sprawling estate for $7.5 million in 2022 and later transformed its exterior with an all-black makeover. The nearly 19,000-square-foot residence reportedly includes nine bedrooms, an indoor basketball court and a recording studio, making it one of the rapper's most recognizable displays of success.
The latest police activity also follows an earlier encounter with authorities in South Florida. NBC 6 reported that the 27-year-old rapper, born Michael Lamar White, was arrested at Miami International Airport in July while attempting to board a flight to France. That arrest involved an outstanding Miami-Dade County warrant dating to 2023.
However, no connection between that airport arrest and Tuesday's home search has been established in the reports reviewed. Baller Alert specifically noted that police had not linked the two events, leaving the reason for the latest warrant unresolved.
TMZ said it had contacted Miami Police for further information and reached out to Redd's representatives without receiving a response at publication. Its report did not establish whether the search warrant concerned the rapper personally.
For now, the confirmed development is that police served a search warrant at Redd's home. The accounts reviewed do not report an arrest or new charges arising from the search, identify anything seized, or establish whether he was present. Those unanswered questions will determine what this investigation means for the rapper as further details emerge.
