Hugh Jackman has not been confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday, and he still isn't giving a straight answer about Wolverine's future in Marvel's next films.
In a new Variety interview published October 8, Jackman was reminded that he had previously said he wouldn't be in Doomsday and was asked whether he would appear in Avengers: Secret Wars. His reply: "I don't know what you're talking about." He then joked that he has an internal chip that shuts him down if he says the wrong thing.
Nothing so far. Marvel Studios has made no official announcement that Jackman is returning in either film, according to ComicBook.com and MovieWeb. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for December 18, 2026, and Secret Wars is expected in 2027.
Jackman's return as Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) left the door open for the character's future. Marvel head Kevin Feige has also teased that Jackman and Ryan Reynolds could return in future projects, per ComicBook.com.
Jackman is set to star in Ridley Scott's Treasure Island. He told Variety the script was "just undeniable."
Jackman was raised in a Christian home, and his father came to faith at a Billy Graham crusade. In a 2015 Parade interview he said, "I'm a Christian," and described dedicating each performance to God before stepping onstage.
